Stella Scarlatta, or the Firebird in the Soul 🌙

In its totality, the piece (displayed in the video below) venerates the alchemical process, or the cosmic conditions which make the Great Work possible. As division is intrinsic to union, the glittering lunar-solar principles are highlighted individually, then blended mystically in a nest of charcoal. Crowning the work, the Eye of Horus iridates his Beloved Hathor; the blaze strikes the velvet Midnight effervesce, seeping it Asunder; offering a tart, spectral lather into the lissome Twilight Crevasse. Her hyacinthhearth-womb contains and reflects his illuminations, and the smoldering heat liberates the Fire-bird in the Soul; liquefying the Bloodstone to fragrant form (spirit).

The spry licorice chords (nadis), or black fire-weeds, as I have entitled them, levitate this spirit-fragrance to the Heavens. It is always Music that Strikes my Heart open; and when I write,Fire-Pearl patinas froth iridescently from the cauldron-pyre, and rouge in the Graal curdles toward the Tourmaline Gleam. Dualistically, Pearl references the alchemical principal and the child of Hester Prynne in the Scarlet Letter. Nuit opens for the scarlet star in the ash-pitch midnight, contained within Her; and the solar silhouette (Horus) transposed upon the lunar silhouette (Hathor) forms the Ankh (hearth and sword). Thus, to stream the piece to symmetry, a scarlet-rouge strip smears the Serpent, who drapes the Land Beyond the Spheres.

The piece, inked by my Nika Urban, is consecrated by the three successive sevens; in honor of our Lady of the Stars, Venus-Mars, the Evening and Morning Gloss. The fire-weeds tangle up to sear my scribing hand with hot coal gems, warmed forever by the Transcendent Lust of Nature’s Beast and Babalon; Set and Nephthys; Shakti and Shiva—he the handsome howl bellowing from deep-space onyx and she the ornamented noire, where aural charms and peppermints glisten All Beings across Evening’s Tide.
