âEvery man and every woman is a star.â

When we activate the inner-path, tap the boundless well of imagination (which releases energy), and hone the light which pervades the natural world, cosmic, etc. we are energetically self-sufficient and radiate brightly wherever we go.
Crossing the Abyss activates consciousness that evades materialism and mechanistic logic, which works in the World, but has no power in the Desert. The âEye,â or spiritual sight activated by Fire (Bhairavi), must be turned inwardly. (e.g., see "One Eyed Old Manâ by Bathory). To this point, Crowley liked every being to âcut their own way through the jungleâ by the guiding illumination of the inner-star. The idea is that reality is complexly nuanced, yet concurrently, âTruth is One.â All mythologies present a dualism, Shakti and Shiva, Set and Horus, Inanna and Ereshkigal; or heat, friction and aggravation which jet-fuels the alchemical process (transmutation; integration).
Interestingly, it is often those who do not use magical or yogic technique, who unconsciously use practices associated with âdark magicâ to pull off energy, like emotional manipulation, slander, gossip, or other strange behaviors. The shadow implication of the âDevil Cardâ in Crowleyâs Thoth deck is a refusal to transform; instead, one grips to biases, worldly comforts and illusions, and cannot cultivate inner-knowing or inner-light. Relatedly, the true mechanism of Choronzon/Rahu, is to enmesh in the World and disperse consciousness.
Fire is the antidote and ultimately the most powerful element; what remains when the burning, scorching heat strips of all bindingsâpure consciousness. The objective of Ceremonial Magic and Aghora is gnosis; or subjective, direct communication (Mercury-Hermes) with the Divine. A Magician or Tantric is not interested in converting you, telling you what or how to think; only in providing the raw tools to cultivate personal experience. Spiritual courage is fortified by any act, where we follow the Path in the face of opposition. Whether contemplating the brave charioteer Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita, or Inanna voyaging the Netherworld, a Tantric attitude identifies the weave of truth coiling and glittering throughout all dimensions of reality.
